The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of the branch facility to ensure that effective staffing, security, operations, customer service, and business development efforts are in place. Manages the sales, service, and operational responsibilities of office staff. Solicits and develops new business through proactive efforts and walk-in activities, and retail.

Responsibilities

  • Manages retail staff through efforts to and develop, motivate, coach and train retail staff along with other managers in the retail team. Meets regularly with direct reports to ensure strong communications of individual and department expectations.
  • Provides financial information and professional advice to customers by identifying their financial needs.
  • Opens retail banking accounts, safe deposit, Certificate of Deposits, and IRA accounts and meets customers’ needs while cross selling other MWO services to enhance the customer relationship.
  • Coordinates with the bank’s lending areas in originating and processing loan applications for both consumer and real estate, along with handling loan closings and collection activities.
  • Proactively works to develop new business through both walk-in activity and customer outreach.
  • Motivates employees through effective communication and training while promoting their interest and participation in cross-selling and referring bank products and services. Works with employees regularly through individual and team efforts to assist them in establishing and attaining their goals.
  • Oversees the development, implementation and participation of promotional activities, programs and calls to generate new business relationships.
  • Meets with customers and handles complex situations that may require additional assistance when they are requested or required.
  • Participates, plans, and organizes community events, both at the branch location and in the surrounding community. Represents the Bank on community groups and non-profits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of financial institution experience dealing with branch operations and retail deposit operations is required.
  • Supervisory experience required.
