Hotel Sales Manager – SoHo 54 Hotel

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Hotel Sales Manager who will develop and manage the hotel’s negotiated transient and group segments at our 160-room boutique hotel in Manhattan, New York, the Soho 54 Hotel. Embodying the pioneering spirit of Manhattan’s creative hub in Soho, the hotel offers a unique experience that captures the energy of our ever-evolving urban island. As a key member of the team, you will play an integral role in shaping the hotel's success and growth.

Structure:

The Hotel Sales Manager will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with the Corporate Director of Sales. This role requires both independence in generating sales as well as collaboration with other departments to achieve business objectives. While there may be opportunities to lead initiatives, this position requires a proactive, self-motivated approach to managing accounts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively solicits and qualifies new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, written communication, and client entertainment.
  • Conducts targeted account research to determine revenue potential.
  • Participates in daily business review meetings, training, and other sales-related meetings as required.
  • Collaborates with the Revenue Management team to optimize pricing strategies and negotiate contracts in line with the hotel’s revenue goals.
  • Analyzes market trends, competition, and customer behavior to ensure the hotel remains competitive in the local market.
  • Works with marketing to promote targeted campaigns, special offers, and industry partnerships to drive business.
  • Responds to sales leads and clients’ requests within 4 hours.
  • Prepares and customizes sales presentations and proposals to meet client’s needs.
  • Works in harmony with other departments to execute group bookings and catering events.
  • Produces quarterly plans and weekly reports with strategies to achieve activity targets and annual revenue goals.
  • Tracks performance metrics and booking trends using CRM tools.
  • Monitors and assesses service and satisfaction trends, evaluates and addresses issues, and implements improvements.

Sales Goals: The Hotel Sales Manager is expected to focus on generating revenue from corporate accounts, group sales, and transient bookings. Success in this role will be measured by achieving specific revenue targets, growth in market share, and meeting key performance indicators.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel sales (preferably in the New York City market or a boutique/lifestyle hotel).
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Experience with CRM and PMS systems. Familiarity with platforms like Cvent, Salesforce is a plus.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data to track performance metrics, booking patterns, and market trends.
  • Strong understanding of revenue management and pricing strategies, ideally in collaboration with a Revenue Management team.
  • A positive, energetic, and outgoing attitude, with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • University/College degree in a related discipline is preferred.
