Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sign Language Interpreter to support a second-grade student in Alabama through remote work. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a child's education, all while working from the comfort of your own home.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide clear and accurate American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation during live classes and social interactions.
Interpret educational content, including instructions, questions, and responses, to ensure full understanding.
Collaborate closely with teachers and school staff to promote inclusive communication.
Maintain confidentiality of student and school-related information in line with ethical standards.
Assist the student in actively participating in both academic and extracurricular activities.
Track and report any challenges or improvements regarding the student's communication and comprehension.

Qualifications:

Valid Alabama Professional Interpreter Certificate.
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Minimum EIPA score of 3.5.
Previous experience in educational interpreting is preferred.
Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
Comfortable with virtual classroom settings and familiar with digital tools for interpretation.
Access to a reliable internet connection and necessary technology for remote work.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
