This hybrid role allows you to work onsite 3 days a week at our corporate office in Framingham, MA.

Our eCommerce team delivers customer-centric site experiences to position Staples as a digital selling platform of choice. Our team ensures that our mobile, desktop, and app platforms deliver the digital experience that our customers expect. We do this through customer insights, analytics, and testing to build a strong innovation pipeline for the future and to bring products and solutions to market seamlessly. We utilize online merchandising and campaigns executed by both humans and automated tools to convert new and returning website visitors into customers. We work end-to-end with our sales, merchandising, finance, logistics and technology teams to provide a world-class, holistic digital experience, growing profitable results in a fun and rewarding work environment. What you’ll be doing:

  • Track daily SEO metrics and provide comprehensive weekly reports on the performance of our print site.
  • Identify, champion and execute key initiatives to improve print site’s SEO ranking and performance.
  • Ensure core web vitals, navigation, and discoverability criteria are met for high intent search shoppers; partner with digital site experience teams to launch new templates and update existing pages to optimize SEO.
  • Perform keyword research and manage search index via internal linking and SEO tag management to increase SEO traffic and improve ranking on SERPs.
  • Identify content gaps and source high-quality content, such as user-generated content and summaries, to improve customer experience and SEO performance.
  • Analyze competitor sites to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with other SEO and Paid Search marketing teams, in-market sales leadership, product managers, and engineering teams to forecast search trends, analyze actual performance, and understand variations in traffic for our print business.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams on major technical initiatives to improve or maintain SEO and provide feedback on tradeoffs when SEO could be impacted by engineering changes.
  • Generate supporting documents needed for technical projects, including wireframes, requirement and project outlines that clearly state goals and intended outcomes.
  • Effectively communicate the impact that technical structure, design, aesthetics, content, navigation, performance and function have on SEO
  • Help set the strategic vision for print SEO in alignment with Staples corporate and overall SEO strategy.
  • Further the SEO culture through steady communication of strategies & best practices for Staples.com and other domains.
  • Monitor and communicate latest trends and search engine guidelines.
  • Develop and execute inbound linking strategies.
  • Partner with vendors to ensure campaigns perform in line with expectations and goals. Serve as subject matter expert for SEO providing SEO support and guidance to businesses outside of Staples.com including Quill, Staples Canada and Staples Business Advantage
  • Present and communicate directly with stakeholders with varied levels of SEO or digital marketing knowledge.

What you bring to the table:

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Analytics and Marketing teams to prioritize against competing priorities and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and synthesize insights through clear, concise communication.
  • Proficiency in both oral and written communication, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 5-7 years of project management and SEO experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of e-commerce platforms, digital ecosystems, and related technologies.
  • Advanced understanding of search engine industry and algorithms.
  • Previous experience with web analytics/tracking tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics.
  • Expertise with SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Botify or equivalent)

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Familiarity with programming languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. is a plus.
