THE POSITION
The City of Moreno Valley is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant to join our Public Safety Division on a temporary basis. This role involves performing a range of technical and administrative tasks with a high degree of independent accountability to support the department's functions and processes. Key responsibilities include acting as a liaison, managing communications, organizing activities, and assisting with special projects. The Senior Administrative Assistant will also handle tasks such as document preparation, database management, research, budget monitoring, and coordinating training programs. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the Public Safety Division and providing excellent service to the community.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for the part-time Senior Administrative Assistant position will have strong knowledge of office administrative and management practices, as well as principles of business communication. They should be proficient in using word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to create complex documents and manage data. The candidate must possess excellent organizational skills, the ability to set priorities, and exercise sound independent judgment. Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, are essential, along with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and tact. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with city management, staff, contractors, vendors, external agencies, and the public. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; and four years of increasingly responsible administrative support or secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
