Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.


Job Summary

Oversees the University's Annual Planning process, working with academic and administrative leaders to identify and prioritize capital project needs. Manages the Capital Project Outlay, moving key projects through a multi-year process from early planning and funding strategies to final approval by the University System of Georgia (USG). Ensures that space planning and capital investments align with the University's mission, strategic goals, and long-term growth

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leads the university¿s annual capital planning cycle, working closely with Deans, Vice Presidents, and unit leaders
2. Translates institutional goals into capital project options for executive review and decision making
3. Facilitates cross-functional planning sessions, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up with academic and administrative units
4. Manages the University¿s Capital Project Outlay, prioritizing projects based on strategic alignment, space needs, and stakeholder readiness
5. Guides priority projects through the Board of Regents (BOR) Capital Plan, KSU¿s internal review process, and USG proposal development
6. Monitors planning milestones, funding strategies, and project readiness for both internal leadership and external reporting
7. Ensures proposed capital projects support KSU¿s strategic priorities in student success, research, community engagement, sustainability, and institutional growth
8. Assess project scope, justification, space requirements, and potential funding sources (state, donor, or internal)
9. Oversees preparation of project requests, program briefs, and conceptual studies with stakeholders and consultants
10. Partners with the Executive Director of Space Administration to integrate space data, utilization studies, and scheduling analysis into capital project planning
11. Collaborates with Planning, Design & Construction colleagues to ensure accurate cost estimates and space allocations throughout the process
12. Serves as the lead administrator for KSU¿s Campus Design & Construction Standards
13. Works with subject-matter experts to update and publish campus standards and design guidelines regularly

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Planning, Architecture, Public Administration, Organizational Psychology, Higher Education Administration, Business, Finance, or related field.

Other Required Qualifications
Licensure or professional certification in a relevant field (e.g., Architecture, Planning, or Project Management)

Required Experience
Seven (7) years of experience in strategic planning, campus planning, grant writing, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Preferred Experience
Experience in space utilization analysis and academic planning metrics
Experience includes project management in a higher education setting

Proposed Salary

The midpoint of the salary range is $96,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.

Working knowledge of spatial systems, GIS tools, and campus planning software
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Proficient in planning and project management tools such as Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, and project tracking platforms.

Effective communicator with strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills
Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across faculty, staff, administrators, students, and external partners
