The candidate will report directly to the General Consulting manager. This is a home office based position. No relocation is necessary. Extensive domestic travel (approximately 80 percent). Responsibilities Develop / manage long-term strategic Information Technology Plans Perform / manage software selections for complete HIS systems or specific modules Perform / project management clinical and financial system implementations Provide Training for existing HIS installations Perform operational assessments and business process redesign to improve Hospital use of existing HIS Qualifications A degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or Management Information Systems (Required) 5+ years of experience in hospital information systems consulting and / or experience as a hospital IT director Extensive clinical, healthcare consulting or healthcare information technology backgrounds will also be considered Significant industry experience in an acute care environment will also be considered, especially RN's with advanced degrees Experience in overseeing and delivering business solutions implementation in a hospital environment is a must. Understanding of the full project life cycle including : facilitating design sessions, mapping and configuring data values, work-flow development, functional testing, training and user support Capable of leading small teams through redesign, build, test and deployment of new business processes to facilitate integration of new system functionality Hospital Information System experience with McKesson, EPIC, Eclipsys, Cerner, Quadramed or Meditech (required for at least one of these vendors).
