POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of shipping/receiving, inventory management in the shipping department and fumigations. Candidate must be a team player with a strong work ethic and proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment. Primary responsibility is to provide technical and administrative oversight and expertise in logistics operations while building high-performing teams.

Safety Ability :

Promote a "safety first" culture by following all safety rules (including Lockout/Tag out, Confined Space, Fall Protection and Hazard Communication). Report all near misses, Injuries, and documentation of incidents to Shift Supervisor/Production Supervisor and or Manager or Director

Quality Ability:

Perform all duties in accordance with Quality and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) established company policies and procedures.

Continues Improvement:

Responsible for Active participation in continuous improvement teams and processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shipping Supervisor

• Oversee all shipping operations.
• Oversee appointments scheduling and shipping schedule.
• Plan daily/weekly work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuation workloads.
• Administrative responsibilities (inventory reporting, labor management, budgets, etc.)
• Daily/weekly/monthly data collection and analysis.
• Develop capability of the hourly work force with specific attention to creation and maintenance of applicable skill sets.
• Manage day-to-day inventory systems, processes, and procedures to ensure achievement of key business results.
• Continually evaluate the effectiveness of existing work processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and accuracy.
• Audit areas of shipping.
• Report daily inventories and FIFO position, exceptions, and outages; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate interdepartmentally to safeguard the movement of goods while maximizing efficiencies. and delivering high-level customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Develop, implement, and sustain standard work procedures.
• Recognize and respond to trends; troubleshoot opportunities and communicate solutions.
• Supervise and analyze employee performance; train and evaluate employees.
• Coordinate inventory movement and storage across facilities, including external storage, as necessary.
• Coach, mentor, develop, and train hourly workforce; evaluate and track employee performance.
• Provide strong leadership and consistent feedback to all subordinates; demonstrates and promotes. company culture through word and action.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on company needs.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in distribution leadership required.
• High level functionality in a team environment where honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability are expected.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

Facility is a manufacturing environment, and this position may primarily be outdoors. The manufacturing environment and working outdoors may include high levels of noise. When working outdoors conditions can include extreme cold, heat, or humidity; and sometimes can include work in dusty conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated by the company. Position requires standing, sitting, and walking on a regular basis for prolonged periods. Near vision-ability to see details at close range. Ability to continuously use trunk strength-abdominal and lower back to support repeated bodily movement.
