Job Description

A skid steer loader is a versatile, compact piece of equipment designed for material handling, grading, and site preparation. Operators use the machine by maneuvering it with dual joystick or lever controls, which allow precise movement in tight spaces.

• Loading & Transporting: Move soil, gravel, debris, or construction materials with the front bucket or specialized attachments.
• Grading & Leveling: Smooth surfaces for landscaping, roadwork, or foundation preparation.
• Attachment Use: Swap out buckets for forks, augers, trenchers, or sweepers to expand functionality.

Operating Steps:

• Start-Up: Enter the cab safely, fasten the seatbelt, and start the engine following manufacturer guidelines.
• Control: Use the joysticks to steer—one controls forward/backward motion, the other controls turning.
• Bucket Operation: Raise, lower, tilt, or dump the bucket using hydraulic controls.
• Safety: Always operate on stable ground, maintain awareness of surroundings, and avoid sudden movements.

Safety Notes:

• Wear proper PPE (hard hat, gloves, boots, high-visibility vest).
• Never exceed load capacity.
• Keep bystanders clear of the work zone.
• Shut down and secure the machine when not in use.
