We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced Accounting and Finance team. This role is critical to our organization and will have a direct impact on our financial operations. You will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers; preparing and analyzing budgets; and performing general bookkeeping. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of general accounting procedures, strong analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and reports, providing critical financial results to management.
• Manage the accounts payable function to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintain accurate records and control reports.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports and statements.
• Participate in the development and implementation of accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions, ensuring the company's financial security.
• Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process.
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
• Liaise with our Financial Manager and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting theory and principles.
• Experience with general ledger functions, the month-end/year-end close process, and forecasting methods.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong in Excel.
• High attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
