Store Manager/Assistant Manager Location: Ilion, NY Minimum Experience: 1 year Minimum Education: GED Hours: Flexible, including weekends Pay: Based on experience (starting at $15.50/hr during probation)About the Role: Ilion True Value Hardware is seeking a dependable, hands-on Store Manager or Assistant Manager to help lead daily operations in our locally owned, community-focused hardware store. This is an active role for someone who enjoys working with customers, supporting a small team, and taking ownership of store performance.
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily store operations Provide excellent customer service and product support Train, motivate, and support staff Receive, price, and stock merchandise Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store Assist with inventory accuracy and sales goals Communicate promotions to staff and customers Support local community events and store initiativesQualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience (retail or supervisory experience preferred) Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to multitask and work independently Reliable, trustworthy, and community-oriented Comfortable in a hands-on environment Must pass a background check (NYS/federal compliant) Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods Must be available for flexible scheduling, including weekendsCompensation: The position offers a starting pay of $15.50 during a probationary period of at least three months. Following successful completion of the probationary period, pay will be reviewed and may be adjusted based on demonstrated skills, performance, and responsibilities.
