Job Description: Veritas Injury Lawyers is seeking a recent law school graduate for a Summer Associate position beginning shortly after graduation and continuing through the summer. This is a paid opportunity designed to give a new graduate meaningful, hands-on litigation experience in the field of personal injury law. Candidates who demonstrate excellence during the summer and successfully pass the Colorado Bar Exam will be considered for a full-time associate attorney position at our firm.

Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. 
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials. 
  • Review and analyze medical records, accident reports, and other evidence. 
  • Participate in client meetings and interviews to gather information and provide updates. 
  • Support attorneys in settlement negotiations and mediations. 
  • Attend court proceedings and observe litigation strategies. 
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management. 
  • Develop arguments (including researching applicable case law).
  • Assist in all phases of litigation, including viewing depositions and/or trial.
  • Report to attorneys and clients regarding case status. 
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of client information. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and be a team player. 
  • Able to adapt to office policy improvements, be a self-starter, and be self-motivated in a fast-paced work environment. 
  • Other job-related duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Graduation from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in personal injury law. 
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills with attention to detail. 
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced work environment. 
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently. 
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. 

Firm will accept out-of-state applicants.  

Benefits:  

  • Hourly rate $37/hr. to $45/hr., commensurate with experience.
  • Hands-on experience, training, and mentorship from experienced attorneys. 
  • Exposure to a wide range of personal injury cases, developing research ethics, legal writing, client services, and practical experience in personal injury law. 
  • Friendly and supportive work environment. 
  • Opportunity to earn full-time position contingent upon experience at Veritas Injury Lawyers following graduation and passing the Colorado State Bar Examination.
