Job Description Job Title: Tig Welding Technician Location: Paris, IL Zip Code: 61944 Start Date: Right Away Job Type: Direct Hire Pay Rate: $20.00 - $30.00/hr DoE Shift: 4-10 hour days Belcan is looking for a Tig Welding Technician for one of our clients in Paris, IL. Responsibilities Prepare, assemble and fusion weld various metal components using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), both manual and automatic. Demonstrate ability and skills to certify on all welding techniques for sheet, tube groove, and fillet welds in all base metal groups appropriate to product mix. Inspect weld quality to assure weld joints are of acceptable quality without blowouts, weld beads are consistent, accurate, and meet size and/or other applicable specification, and that proper weld techniques are being followed. Setup, adjust, and verify welding equipment, fixture, jog and machinery is functioning properly and meeting all appropriate specifications for task/operation. Measure and verify welded components meet specified blueprints, sketches and/or specifications using various measurement equipment necessary to task. Perform operations/tasks as specified on router. Dispose of weld rods properly in assigned waste cans. Apply 6s principles to all areas of the plant. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Two years college/technical school or three years related experience/training with proven skills preferred. Good cognitive skills and mechanical aptitude. Ability to comprehend routers, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, operating instructions, manuals, specifications, correspondence. Problem solving skills, good judgement skills, good communication skills, basic computer skills. Ability to work well in a team environment.
