Job Description

Job Title: Trade Career Navigator

Status : FTE

Brighton Center, Inc. is a private non-profit community-based organization with the mission to create opportunities for individuals and families to reach self-sufficiency through family support services, education, employment, and leadership.

Purpose:

The role of the Career Navigator will be to define, develop, execute, and lead a pre-apprenticeship program that leads to customers engaging in trade apprenticeships, employment opportunities, and connections with post-secondary education programs while maintaining a focus on the agency's mission and core values.

 

Job Responsibilities:

As the Trades Career Navigator, you will identify, engage, and empower individuals seeking to learn and establish themselves as a trade worker. By partnering with prospective trainees to understand their goals and potential barriers, you will:

  • Work collaboratively to facilitate a smooth transition through the pre-apprenticeship process and support their transition to apprenticeship, education, or employment opportunities
  • Connect with prospective trainees and community referral partners via direct outreach at events, information sessions, and one-on-one appointments in community settings and through digital outreach using social media channels.
  • Recruitment and retention of customers, completing intake assessment and barrier assessment meetings.
  • Ongoing case management and service planning services.
  • Assist customers with connecting to community resources to stabilize their situation.
  • Assist with career planning, resume development, and job search.
  • Maintain data entry requirements, track and report outcomes, and work with community partners to coordinate services and schedule programming.
  • Organize, host, and facilitate workshops during the three-week cohort sessions.
  • Connect and engage with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Passionately believe that each person has inherent worth and dignity and the ability to become self-sufficient.
  • Be a strategic thinker with demonstrated skills in growing referral bases, relationship management, marketing, and social media.
  • Be innovative, organized, and results-oriented.

 

Requirements:

  • Skilled Trades Industry knowledge preferred, instructional experience a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing and/or community engagement
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to navigate database applications
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to adapt and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced and changing environment

This position has a salary range of $41,500 - $43,888.
