\nHEMATOLOGY ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED. MEDSURG EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

\nIf you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.
\n
\nStaffing ratios - goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5
\n• Weekends - variable based on unit needs
\n• No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff
\n• Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule
\n• First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
\n• Oncology experience preferred but not required
\n• Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units
\n
\nPatient Diagnoses
\n• Lymphoma
\n• Multiple Myeloma
\n• Acute leukemias
\n• Chronic Leukemias
\n• Sickle Cell Disease
\n• other non hem cancers
\n• Other benign hematology
\n
\nSpecial Procedures/Unit Details
\n• Chemotherapy
\n• Blood transfusions
\n• IV Antibiotics
\n• Oncologic emergencies: tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome
\n• Insulin drips
\n• Heparin drips
\n• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
\n
\nCertifications Required
\n• BLS
\n• ACLS
\n
\nSkills Required
\n• MS/Tele
\n• Telemetry
\n• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
\n• Telemetry -on the unit monitoring
\n• Use of Rapid Response Teams
\n• Feeding tube care and management
\nIV therapy/Phlebotomy

\n• Central line blood draw
\n• Peripheral Line Care/Management
