Job Description

Day Shift/16 hours a week

Location: 49 Crescent Street Middletown - OB/GYN

Schedule: Mondays and Fridays 8am-5pm with flexibility for coverage during the week

Position Summary

Using independent judgment performs ultrasound exams in a OB/Gyn medical practice setting. Assists physicians and provides patient care essential to ultrasound procedures. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Applies the principles of teamwork in all aspects of providing patient services.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Under direct supervision:

• Works independently using professional judgment to provide diagnostic images that are properly positioned, marked and have utilized technique to provide high quality images

• Reviews physician orders, ensuring that procedure and signs/symptoms for exam are provided and match

• Uses correct imaging views or protocols and selects appropriate imaging techniques to minimize radiation and obtain good quality images

• Ensures the proper marking (left and right) and annotations of images 

• Ensures proper recording and transmission of all patient information, verbally, written or computer based 

• Assists in monitoring the condition of equipment; reports and documents equipment issues as soon as possible

Minimum Qualifications

• ADRMS certified 

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred registered or registered eligible in OB/Gyn
• OB/Gyn medical practice experience
• Demonstrated Ultrasound proficiency and competency in OB/Gyn ultrasound procedures
