Position: UX Product Designer

Location: Fort Worth, Texas

Job Overview:

This position is a 6-month contract with no potential for extension or conversion at this time. The role requires a hybrid work schedule, with 3 days onsite (Tuesday through Thursday) and 2 days remote (Monday and Friday). The candidate must provide their own laptop, specifically a 16-inch MacBook Pro with a minimum M3 chip. Sub-vending is not allowed, and H1B candidates will not be considered. Strong Figma skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently, manage complex products and stakeholder groups, and deliver exceptional designs. This role is part of the Technology Strategy User Experience (UX) team within the Information Technology Division, which focuses on driving user experience for customer and employee-facing applications. The position may involve working on product-focused initiatives or in Design Operations to scale design across the enterprise.

Responsibilities:



  • Influence outcomes and product owner decisions based on UX best practices, design principles, and research using agile methodologies.

  • Collaborate with developers to implement effective and efficient solutions.

  • Collect, analyze, present, and act on feedback while managing changes to UX deliverables.

  • Present work clearly and compellingly to stakeholders.

  • Provide timely status updates, including work progress, issues, and risks.

  • Design the visual style, interface, and interaction flow of applications adhering to design standards and system patterns.

  • Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes with a focus on systems thinking and information architecture.

  • Create research strategies, usability test plans, scripts, and scenarios for prototypes.

  • Use research techniques such as heuristic reviews, user interviews, and usability testing to evaluate designs and ideas.

    Qualifications:



    • Minimum Qualifications:



      • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Visual Design, Library Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/training.

      • 3+ years of experience as a UX practitioner in user experience design, interaction design, or a similar field.

      • Experience working closely with developers in an agile environment from inception through implementation.

      • Proficiency in remote unmoderated testing tools and moderated testing platforms.

      • Experience with emerging technologies such as Generative AI and Spatial Computing.

      • Experience in responsive, adaptive, and accessible designs.



      • Preferred Qualifications:



        • Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Visual Design, Library Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/training.

        • Experience with Accessibility: WCAG 2.0 AA compliance, localization, and inclusive design.

        • Experience designing mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms.



        • Skills, Licenses, and Certifications:



          • Strong skills in modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Adobe CC.

          • Advanced analytical skills for solving complex data problems and implementing sustainable solutions.

          • Strong organizational skills for building flows and wireframes for complex applications.

          • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and communicate effectively with non-technical users.

          • In-depth understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.

          • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and trends in web and app design.
