Job Description:

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Welder/Machinist to join our team in the Cesium Beam Tube (CBT) department. The Welder/Machinist will also acquire additional roles operating other equipment in the factory. Microchip offers comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure you are fully equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
    \n
  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel sheet metal components.
  • \n
  • Operate equipment in a small machine shop.
  • \n
  • Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • \n
  • Operate other equipment which may include media blast cabinets, industrial degreasers, and/or hydrogen furnaces.
  • \n

Requirements/Qualifications:

    \n
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree is a plus.
  • \n
  • At least 2 years of experience TIG welding.
  • \n
  • Able to operate a manual lathe, milling machine, and surface grinder.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in a machine shop setting.
  • \n
  • Basic computer skills for reviewing documents, emailing, and online training sessions.
  • \n
