Position: Part-time
Location : Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska

Duties:
  • Provide music activities for Catholic worship services, including playing, training, and scheduling music in collaboration with the Catholic Priest.
  • Offer director and accompaniment services for rehearsals, liturgies, and special liturgies such as memorial masses, funerals, combined services, and faith-specific holidays.
  • Lead the choir and congregation in worship, collaborate on musical selections, and support the Catholic worship service.
  • Administer documentation of services performed and ensure timely payment for subcontractor services.
  • Coordinate all music activities of the Catholic program.
  • Ensure all facilities and equipment used are properly secured and maintained.
Requirements:
  • Degree in music from an accredited institution (or a minimum of four years of experience in Catholic Church music).
  • Knowledge of Catholic liturgy and traditional Christian music.
  • Proficiency in piano and/or guitar (preferred instrument is piano).
  • Previous experience in a Catholic military chapel setting is preferred.
  • Ability to lead a choir and play music required for Mass.
