Part Time Instructor: CNC Programming and Machine Tool Operation (WDC) Overview: Cincinnati State's Workforce Development Center (WDC) is the region's premier workforce training provider. Located at the Evendale campus, this division serves local businesses and individual students in developing industry-relevant skills for today's changing workplace. As a separate profit center, the WDC supports the college mission by offering custom, fast-paced programs that help people gain skills quickly and set them up for future professional and academic success.
Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, Workforce Development Center, is recruiting a part-time trainer to teach technician-level training in CNC Programming and CNC Machine Tool Operation. The position requires hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing using G & M code programming.
Essential Duties: - Deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success.
- Adequately prepare all course materials and lessons. Note preparation time will vary based on instructor experience in teaching that course
- Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations and timelines through carefully written topical outlines and approved, standardized syllabus
- Provide Interesting and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes in a real-life setting
- Suitably challenge, engage, serve and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect
- Complete grade books, final grade sheets, learning assessments and final exam assessments on a timely basis
- Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
- Maintain a paper or electronic record (i.e., spreadsheet or grade book) of each student's progress and has it available upon request by students and/or appropriate College personnel.
Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 5 years' experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment utilizing 5- axis machining centers processes and systems
- At least 3 years hands-on industry or business experience in the teaching subject area
- Knowledge and experience working with computer and working knowledge in Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, or related subject. 3 years' experience teaching/training
- 10+ years of industry experience in engineering or manufacturing with direct experience in Manufacturing Technology utilizing 3-axis and 5-axis machining processes and systems

- Self-disciplined and ability to multi-task, adapt to job or organizational changes. Use critical thinking skills
- Ability to identify problem(s) and solve them through a logical, collaborative process.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time
- Ability to lift/move packages (up to 40 lbs.) on an intermittent basis Ability to climb stairs and ladders
Work Schedule: Part-Time, as-needed (not to exceed 29 hours/week)
