Description The Multi Domain Solutions Division at Leidos is excited to announce an opportunity for an Entry-Level Network Engineer . Join us in a dynamic program with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, where you’ll manage a variety of workstations and network equipment across multiple customer sites as well as cloud environments. We are looking for a dedicated Entry-Level Network Engineer to help us deploy, monitor, and maintain network systems that adhere to the stringent specifications of the Department of Defense (DoD). In this pivotal role, you will implement secure network architectures, monitor customer networks, and assist in the deployment and installation of essential network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls. You will perform rigorous testing to ensure functionality and security compliance, maintain detailed documentation, and provide reliable technical support to both team members and end-users. Be an integral part of our team that delivers 24x7 monitoring of customer networks from the Leidos-operated Network Operations Center. *This position will require the ability to work a rotating shift* Primary Responsibilities: Install and configure networking equipment at customer sites, including routers, switches, firewalls, and cabling. Support the testing of network systems to ensure they meet functionality, performance, and security compliance standards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during installation and testing phases. Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, installations, and modifications. Assist in the development and updates of network diagrams and other essential technical documentation. Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Provide technical support and guidance to team members and end-users. Stay informed about DoD policies and best practices regarding network security and design. Implement security measures to safeguard network infrastructure and data. Proactively monitor and operate customer networks in our Network Operations Center, offering round-the-clock monitoring. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams of engineers, other vendors, and government personnel to deliver outstanding support for the customer’s mission. Basic Qualifications: Must be a US Citizen with at least a Top Secret Clearance, with the capability to obtain a SCI before starting. Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience, or a Master's degree plus 1+ years of experience. Additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Knowledge of protocols, security standards, and design principles associated with OSI Layers 1-3. Hands-on experience with the installation and configuration of physical networking equipment and Local Area Networks (LANs). Familiarity with cloud networking, particularly in Microsoft Azure environments (vNETs, Azure Express Route, Azure Firewall, etc.). Experience handling automated and customer-generated tickets efficiently. Understanding of network management and troubleshooting technologies like ICMP, SNMPv3, and Syslog. Possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with DoD networks, such as SIPR or JWICS. Working knowledge of the use of cryptographic devices for secure networking. Familiarity with configuring virtual private networks (VPNs) using technologies like Cisco AnyConnect, Azure VPN Gateway, MPLS, IPsec VPN, or other site-to-site VPN methods. Relevant networking certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or other intermediate certifications that meet DoD 8140 Requirements (e.g., Security+, AZ-700). Vendor-specific networking certifications (e.g., Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco). Experience in network performance monitoring and optimization. Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices and risk management strategies. Insight into emerging technologies and trends in network infrastructure.
