Job Title: General Labor

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Labor and Production Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly and production of gas fireplaces in a fast-paced team environment. Your tasks will include using small hand tools and light power tools to construct sub-assemblies, assemblies, and finished products. Additionally, you will perform packaging processes and operate production equipment such as flat wash and presses. This position requires working in a high-pressure environment for the entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and produce gas fireplaces using small hand tools and light power tools.
• Construct sub-assemblies, assemblies, and finished products.
• Perform out-box packaging processes.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly workstation according to 6S standards.
• Ensure the quality of the products assembled.
• Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills

• Ability to learn and work at a fast pace.
• Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to work long hours on your feet.
• Ability to read and comprehend standard work instructions.
• Effective communication skills in English.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of one year recent experience working in a fast-paced environment (within the last 18 months).
• Minimum of one year experience utilizing hand or power tools.
• Ability to stand on your feet for at least ten hours per day.

Work Environment

Work in an industrial manufacturing environment where safety and quality are priorities. The production workforce consists of 350 people working in project teams of 15-25, depending on the department. The dress code includes jeans, a t-shirt, and steel-toe footwear. The factory can become warm in summer and cool in winter, so maintaining speed and quality despite temperature fluctuations is essential. Shifts are available from 6:00am to 4:30pm (M-TH) for 1st shift and 5:00pm to 3:30am (M-TH) for 2nd shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake City, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $22.00/hr.
