Job Description

Overview NexJ Health is looking for a part-time Health Coach who is passionate about health and wellness to join our team. In this role, the Health Coach will be responsible for counselling clients on health behavior change through our digital health platform, NexJ Connected Wellness. Coaches must be able to work flexible hours and attend weekly supervision and training sessions. This is a part-time role, totalling approximately 20 hours per week. The Health Coach will provide care in the United States and therefore must reside in the United States. All client interactions and trainings are remote. Responsibilities Use Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to support clients in reaching their personal health goals Manage a roster of clients and provide timely health behaviour change counselling through our digital platform, NexJ Connected Wellness Interact with clients via secure messaging, phone and video chat in both English and/or Spanish Complete accurate chart notes promptly Maintain confidential information Contribute to the development of educational health content (on topics such as exercise, diet, and goal setting) Requirements Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Kinesiology Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM - CEP) National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) Proof of professional liability insurance Must live in California (preferably San Diego) Tech-savvy – able to work with technology and learn new applications as needed Experience working in a hospital, health clinic, university or in the private health care sector Experience working with a broad age range of clientele and clients living with chronic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, etc.) Trained in coaching techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, goal setting and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills Demonstrates the capacity to multitask, problem solve and prioritize effectively Experience working with clients with mental health concerns is an asset Advanced communication skills (written and verbal) in both English and Spanish Compensation This is a part-time position of up to 20 hours per week, offered at a fixed rate of $40 per hour.
