Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes by analyzing product designs and production methods. This role focuses on improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring smooth transitions of new products and technologies into production. The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams and customers to support product development, solve production issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: \n - \n Process Development & Optimization:
\n - Design, document, and improve manufacturing processes, including writing detailed manufacturing instructions and routings.
\n - Develop and implement work instructions for manufacturing operations, ensuring consistency and quality across production lines.
\n
\n \n - \n New Product Integration:
\n - Coordinate the successful transition of new products and technologies from design to production, ensuring manufacturability and scalability.
\n - Support prototyping activities and collaborate in concurrent engineering design reviews to ensure production readiness.
\n
\n \n - \n Tooling & Equipment Design:
\n - Design and procure tools, fixtures, and equipment necessary for efficient production.
\n - Evaluate production tools and equipment for performance improvements and operational enhancements.
\n
\n \n - \n Production Support:
\n - Monitor and coordinate production operations, ensuring adherence to established processes and quality standards.
\n - Evaluate and solve production issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
\n
\n \n - \n Project Management & Continuous Improvement:
\n - Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste, improve processes, and enhance productivity.
\n - Prepare and manage appropriation requests, quotes, and project documentation.
\n
\n \n - \n Compliance & Documentation:
\n - Ensure all production processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including process validation (PFMEA, IQ/OQ/PQ).
\n - Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including drawings, routings, and specifications.
\n
\n \n - \n Customer Engagement and Support:
\n - Provide expert guidance on material selection, manufacturing processes, and magnet performance for customer-specific applications.
\n - Serve as a point of contact for addressing customer inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and to understand their technical needs and product requirements.

Qualifications \n - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Experience.
\n - Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with hands-on expertise in process development and validation.
\n - Experience in Lean Manufacturing and proficiency in CAD software.
\n - Strong knowledge of process and equipment validation (PFMEA, IQ/OQ/PQ).
\n

Experience with the following a plus \n - Foundry (induction furnace) and castings
\n - Magnetics
\n - Grinding
\n - Metallurgy
\n - Heat Treating
\n - Demonstrated ability to learn new processes quickly
\n
\n
Skills: \n - Strong project management skills, with the ability to take initiative and see projects through to completion.
\n - Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to production challenges.
\n - Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate across departments and convey technical information clearly.
\n
\n
Working conditions \n - May be exposed to industrial oils, solvents, coolants, adhesives, and other chemicals. All safety precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) are required.
\n - The facility is climate-controlled, but some areas may have excessive noise, requiring ear protection.
\n
\n
Physical requirements \n - Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
\n - Periodic lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
\n - Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching may be required.
\n - Repetitive tasks involving manual dexterity may be part of the role.
