Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Co-op

Department: Product/Tool Engineering

Location: 8450 Broadwell Rd, Cincinnati OH 45244

Job Objective:

1. To support the engineering team as needed to complete tasks and projects.
2. To provide a link between education and industry via real world work experiences in an engineering environment.
3. To provide the intern/co-op with the best possible work term, one in which the co-op is able to learn and grow professionally through a variety of intellectually stimulating assignments.

Potential Tasks / Projects:

1. Design –
2. Assist engineering staff in modeling components in Solidworks, and create engineering drawings.
3. Assist engineering staff in the completion of ECN’s, both sustaining engineering and new product development.
4. Utilize research and calculation methods from the classroom to validate designs.
5. Testing –
6. Learn and apply testing processes and procedures in order to support engineering projects or quality improvement initiatives.
7. Oversee testing in process, keeping detailed logs of progress and taking pictures when necessary.
8. Write thorough test requests, and detailed test reports.
9. Voice of Customer (Recon) –
10. Spend time with our recon team to learn about returned products, diagnose the failure method, find the root cause of the issue, and fix the product if applicable.
11. Manufacturing Process Knowledge –
12. Research and prepare a presentation about one or two specific manufacturing process (i.e. investment casting, stamping, anodizing, etc.), and present to the engineering team.
13. Feedback –
14. Provide feedback regarding the co-op program for future improvements.
