Wound Care Physicians with Omni Wound Physicians are responsible for independently managing a mobile patient caseload and delivering advanced bedside care across a variety of long-term care environments. This is a procedure-intensive role that requires strong clinical judgment, self-direction, and a commitment to service excellence.

Physicians must be able to consistently and effectively:
* Evaluate, diagnose, and manage complex wounds, including but not limited to diabetic ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers, pressure injuries (Stage I–IV), surgical wounds, and post-traumatic wounds
* Perform bedside clinical procedures, including sharp/excisional debridement, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), tissue biopsies, and gastrostomy tube care
* Monitor wound healing trajectories and adjust plans of care in accordance with clinical progress and best practice protocols
* Educate patients, caregivers, and facility staff on wound prevention, wound healing, aftercare, and appropriate escalation
* Secure informed patient consent for wound care services and procedures in accordance with clinical, legal, and regulatory standards
* Document clinical encounters accurately, thoroughly, and in real time using OWP’s HIPAA-compliant electronic health record (EHR) platform
* Collaborate with facility nursing teams, interdisciplinary providers, and OWP’s internal care coordinators to maintain care continuity, communication, and regulatory compliance
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer case reviews, clinical education, documentation audits, and workflow optimization processes

Physicians must also be willing and able to perform *other duties and responsibilities as assigned* in support of patient care, organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness.

*Wound Care Experience – Preferred, Not Required*

*Experienced Wound Care Physicians*

If you already specialize in wound care or routinely manage complex wounds in practice, you’ll have the autonomy and infrastructure needed to perform at your highest level from day one.

*Physicians Without Prior Wound Care Experience*

You do not need prior wound care experience to succeed at OWP—but you must be clinically confident, eager to grow, and comfortable with procedural care. Many of our top-performing physicians have successfully transitioned from internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, surgery, or hospitalist backgrounds.

*Ideal traits for success include:*
* Procedural skill and confidence
* Strong diagnostic acumen and time management
* Ability to work independently in mobile environments
* Compassionate communication with patients, caregivers, and staff
* High attention to documentation accuracy and protocol adherence

*Preferred:*
* Enrollment in a wound care certification program (CWSP, CWS) within 2–3 months of onboarding
* *DEA registration is not required but strongly preferred*; candidates with an active DEA license will be prioritized for full-scope care delivery
* Prior experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, home-based care, or procedural field medicine
