• MD or DO , board-certified in  Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

• Board Certification in Integrative Medicine (ABOIM)preferred – or a strong willingness to enroll in an accredited fellowship upon employment

• Background or interest in  integrative medicine strongly preferred

• A  growth mindset —openness to learning new models and approaches is key

• Confident, collaborative leadership style —ready to manage auxiliary staff and work across disciplines

  Role Details

• Location : In-person , Iowa City, IA
  

  • If not local, then you will be required to relocate before starting work (Required)

• Schedule : 8-hour shifts | Full-time

• Compensation : Market competitive salary + potential for equity for the right candidate, Productivity Bonus, Employer contributed benefits, 401k, plus PTO and CME allowance commensurate with the role.

Job Responsibilities

Provide exceptional patient care by integrating evidence-based conventional medicine with holistic and complementary approaches, tailored to each individual’s needs.

Lead the clinical team in delivering whole-person care, setting standards for excellence in both practice and patient experience.

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members including nurses, health coaches, and wellness practitioners to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.

Serve as a thought leader in the development and refinement of integrative care models within an insured healthcare setting.

Mentor and support team members in the practice of integrative medicine, fostering a culture of curiosity, growth, and collaboration.

Participate in ongoing training and development, including immersive education in Integrative Ayurveda (no prior experience necessary).

Engage in continuous learning and pursue certification in Integrative Medicine (ABOIM), if not already certified.

Oversee and manage auxiliary staff, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to clinical protocols.

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical innovation efforts that enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely medical documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

MD or DO with board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

Board Certification in Integrative Medicine (ABOIM) preferred, or a willingness to enroll in an ABOIM-accredited fellowship upon employment.

Proven experience in clinical practice with a focus on holistic, patient-centered care.

Strong interest in integrative medicine, with any prior training or exposure to complementary therapies (e.g., Ayurveda) being a plus.

Openness to learning and expanding clinical knowledge in integrative approaches to health and wellness.

Leadership skills with the ability to guide, mentor, and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster trust with patients, team members, and other stakeholders.

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple patient care responsibilities within a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Proficiency in using modern EMR systems and strong documentation skills to maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records.

Skills

Clinical Expertise in Internal or Family Medicine: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of medical conditions, with a focus on holistic, whole-person care.

Integrative Medicine Knowledge: Familiarity with or a strong interest in integrative medicine practices, with the ability to blend conventional medical approaches with complementary therapies (e.g., Ayurveda, nutrition, mind-body wellness).

Leadership & Team Collaboration: Strong ability to lead and collaborate in a multidisciplinary setting, managing both clinical and non-clinical staff while fostering a team-oriented and mission-driven environment.
