SeaView’s Recovery Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Peer Support Specialist. If you are passionate about helping others on their journey to recovery, this is the perfect opportunity for you. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with substance use disorders and mental health challenges.

Position: Peer Support Specialist (Full-time)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide empathetic and non-judgmental support to individuals in recovery
  • Facilitate group discussions and support sessions
  • Share your personal experiences of recovery to inspire and motivate others
  • Assist clients in setting recovery goals and creating individualized recovery plans
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure a comprehensive approach to recovery
  • Promote a safe and supportive community within the Recovery Center
  • Encourage clients to engage in healthy recreational and social activities
  • Assist in crisis intervention, as needed
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Must be a person with lived experience in recovery from substance use disorders and/or mental health challenges
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in peer support are a plus
  • Driver's License
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Compassion, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude
  • Reliable and punctual
