Position Summary:

Provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the registered pharmacist by performing technical aspects of distribution and dispensing of medications. 

Reports to: Director of Pharmacy

FLSA: Non-exempt

Grade: 213

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent Required

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Standing for long periods of time (4-8 hours), lifting and carrying moderate loads (40 pounds), corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges, manual dexterity and mobility to move about the pharmacy and hospital as needed.

Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of pharmacy coverage to the patients of Sovah Health on all units.

Minimum Work Experience
Certifications/Licenses:
Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy required or a licensed Pharmacy Intern recognized by the Virginia Board of Pharmacy required.
