About the Role

The Company is seeking a President and General Manager to lead one of the most diverse and innovative public radio stations in the United States. The successful candidate will be a champion of the organization's mission, which is deeply rooted in the values of quality, independent journalism, and community service. Responsibilities for this role include providing overall vision, leadership, and strategic direction, with a strong focus on diversity, racial equity, and inclusion. The President and General Manager will be expected to build and lead a diverse and talented team, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure the financial stability of the organization. They will also be responsible for talent management, strategic planning, and organizational growth. The successful candidate will work closely with the Board of Directors, the University of Washington, and national public media entities to advance the organization's objectives and maintain its position as a trusted source of news and information. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 9 years' of senior-level leadership experience, a proven track record in fundraising and marketing, and a strong understanding of digital media and its role in content distribution and fundraising. They should be an entrepreneurial leader with a commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and inclusiveness. The role requires a leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, and a commitment to the values of the organization.
