Position Summary Tacten is seeking a professional, energetic and forward-thinking Field Safety Advisor to support operations on our newest site located in Kitimat BC. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a growing division within Tacten.
- Position is based locally in Kitimat BC.
- Immediate start dates
- Position will be 40 hrs/week and possible overtime
- Salary range up to $45.00/hr depending on certifications
- We are able to offer up to 3 months of temporary housing to assist with your relocation transition if required.

Responsibilities - Supervise, coordinate, and manage all aspects of safety on project site(s) to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, as well as company policies.
- Actively promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, safety awareness initiatives, and employee engagement.
- Deliver comprehensive safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors, focusing on safety protocols, procedures, and emergency preparedness.
- Investigate and document workplace incidents, near-misses, and safety violations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable safety rules and regulations, and leverage strong negotiation and reasoning skills to influence and guide others toward effective and acceptable safety solutions.
Requirements - NCSO or CRST Professional Certification required.
- OHS Certification would be an asset but not required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a field safety-related discipline.
- Heavy industrial operations experience is an asset.
- A proven track record in participation of safety management processes e.g. safety committees and working groups and heavy industrial auditing and inspection experience.
- You are an excellent planner, organizer, with refined interpersonal and communication skills and have demonstrated computer competency with Microsoft Office software.
