The Role The SAP AMS Level 2 Support Specialist provides comprehensive application maintenance and support services for our integrated SAP landscape. This role requires a multi-module technical professional capable of supporting Logistics (MM/PP/SD/LE), Financial Accounting (FI), Human Capital Management (HCM), and User Management modules. The specialist handles complex incidents requiring deeper analysis beyond Level 1 support, coordinates cross-functional activities, and ensures optimal system performance. Responsibilities: Application Support Services Receive escalated incidents from Level 1 support requiring advanced functional and technical analysis Perform root cause analysis for complex business process issues spanning multiple SAP modules Handle incidents requiring ABAP code changes and coordinate approval processes for code transportation Resolve configuration-related issues and system inconsistencies across integrated modules Support Logistics modules (MM, PP, SD, LE), Financial Accounting (FI), Human Capital Management (HCM), and User Management Document incident resolution procedures and maintain knowledge base On-Call Service Requirements Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for after-hours production support. Respond to Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents within defined SLA timeframes Coordinate emergency response activities during system outages or critical business disruptions Provide immediate assessment and initial resolution steps for production-critical malfunctions Software Maintenance Services Execute planned maintenance activities including support package installations and system patches Monitor system performance indicators and implement tuning recommendations Conduct regular system health checks and preventive maintenance procedures Support system upgrades and enhancement package installations Maintain system configurations and customizations based on changing business requirements Cross Functional Services Support end-to-end business processes spanning multiple SAP modules (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report) Handle integration points where MM and SD transactions automatically post to FI through account determination Troubleshoot issues affecting HCM data integration with payroll and financial reporting Coordinate resolution of cross-module dependencies and their impact on business operations Integration Services Monitor and troubleshoot interfaces between SAP modules and external systems Support data integration processes, ETL operations, and file-based integrations Resolve interface failures and data transmission issues Validate integration mappings and transformation logic Operational Integrator Serve as primary liaison between business users and technical support teams Facilitate communication during complex incident resolution involving multiple teams Coordinate change request assessments and impact analysis across modules Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development teams Basic Basis Services Perform user administration tasks including account creation, role assignments, and authorization management Monitor system performance metrics, work processes, and background job executions Support job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting of failed background processes Assist with transport management activities and change request processing Qualifications: Experience Requirements: SAP Module Experience : 2-3 years of hands‑on functional experience across: Logistics (MM, PP, SD, LE) - minimum 1 year combined Financial Accounting (FI) - minimum 1 year Human Capital Management (HCM) - minimum 1 year User Management and Security - minimum 6 months AMS Support Experience : 2+ years in SAP Application Management Services environment with incident management and SLA-driven support Level 2 Support Experience : 1+ years providing escalated technical support with complex problem-solving responsibilities Technical Skills Basic knowledge of SAP system administration, job scheduling, and transport management Functional understanding of ABAP development concepts for support coordination Basic SQL knowledge and understanding of database impacts on SAP performance Process Knowledge Working knowledge of ITIL framework (incident management, problem management, change management) Experience working in SLA-driven support environments with defined response and resolution times Understanding of end-to-end business processes and their technical implementation in SAP Ability to communicate effectively with business users, technical teams, and management Strong documentation skills for incident tracking, process procedures, and knowledge transfer Experience managing escalations and coordinating multi-team problem resolution Availability and capability to participate in 24/7 on‑call support rotation Preferred Qualifications: SAP functional certification in one or more modules (FI, HCM, MM, SD) ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent process framework knowledge Experience with SAP S/4HANA and migration activities Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager and system monitoring tools Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field Location : Onsite position based in Chattanooga, Tennessee - remote work not available Schedule : Standard business hours with mandatory on‑call rotation participation Travel Requirements : Minimal (less than 5%) Performance Expectations: Maintain incident resolution SLA compliance rates above 95% Demonstrate proficiency across all four required SAP modules within first 6 months Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization Contribute to team knowledge base and training materials Physical requirements: This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb stairs on occasion with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office/noisy environment. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time while traveling in a car or airplane. Compensation range is dependent on geographic location. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skillset. MHP reviews compensation regularly and may adjust base salaries to reflect market competitiveness. In addition to salary, individuals may be eligible for a discretionary performance bonus.
