Inspīr Senior Living, Maplewood Senior Living’s new brand of world-class, urban senior living properties, is now hiring Servers for its new Inspīr Carnegie Hill property. Inspīr Carnegie Hill is located on the Upper East Side and stands 23 stories with 215 residential units. It offers assisted living, enhanced care, and memory care with a unique and innovative Integrated Care Model. The Server Role: Creates an enjoyable dining experience for all residents and guests through excellent customer service. The Server is also responsible for assisting in the set-up, service, and cleaning of the dining room(s) and in ensuring the dining experience is enjoyable, timely, and engaging for residents and guests.
Provides outstanding customer experience for residents and their loved ones, as well as other visitors to the community
Maintains professional appearance at all times
Ensures that residents are comfortable, engaged, and catered to in the dining room(s)
Completes all side work assignments in between meal periods
Performs weekly inventory of dining room wares and supplies, and requisitions as needed
Takes orders from Residents and guests and enters in Point-of-Sale System
Follows all service standards as described in department manual
Attend daily pre-shift meeting with culinary team
Understands the daily menu and how food is prepared before each meal and is able to answer questions related to the menu
Performs assignments after dining room closes and ensures the rooms are ready for the next meal period
Keeps dining rooms clean and properly arranged for residents
Engages with tours and the sales team to offer the best possible first impression
Assists in keeping dining room(s) clean and properly arranged for residents
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with teammates and associates in other departments to ensure that the dining experience is of the highest quality for residents and guests
Complete monthly in-service education hours as required by state specific regulations and company policies
Follow emergency procedures and seek immediate assistance when needed
Understand safety practices and procedures associated with the kitchen and dining rooms, as well as community fire plan and evacuation procedures
Understand community fire plan and evacuation procedures
Ensure the dining rooms are free of potential safety hazards, report necessary repairs as needed
Advise supervisor and appropriate manager of any perceived changes in physical and mental health of resident immediately.
Carry out other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Licensure/Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Experience and passion in working with seniors
Able to convey and understand information and ideas in English
Be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
Work well in stressful, high-pressure situations and be able to maintain composure and objectivity
Be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by residents and guests
Able to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and other staff members.
Must be authorized to legally work in the United States
