Job Title: SMT Operator

Location: Pharr, TX

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Manufacturing Manager

Position Summary:  The SMT Operator sets up, operates, and maintains SMT equipment to assemble PCBs, ensuring high-quality production while meeting schedules, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate SMT machines (pick-and-place, screen printers, reflow ovens, AOI) and ensure accurate component placement.

• Set up equipment, feeders, stencils, and programs according to work instructions.

• Perform inspections and monitor quality throughout production; adjust machines as needed.

• Troubleshoot equipment/process issues to minimize downtime.

• Handle PCBs/components per ESD procedures.

• Maintain accurate production documentation and complete routine machine maintenance.

• Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to resolve issues.

• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred).

• 1–3 years SMT operation experience in electronics manufacturing preferred.

• Knowledge of SMT processes, equipment (DEK, Yamaha, Fuji, Mydata, Panasonic), and inspection methods.

• Ability to read assembly drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.

• Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and good hand-eye coordination.

• Basic computer and data entry skills.

• Team-oriented with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Sit or stand for long periods.

• Lift up to 30 lbs as needed.

Schedule & Work Environment:

• Full-time, potential overtime/weekend shifts.

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, solder paste, and chemicals (safety equipment provided).
