Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our CIIM In Vivo Pharmacology department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As an Intern, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development and delivery of our innovative science.

Duties & Responsibilities
Executes experiments using standard laboratory techniques to achieve defined objectives with minimal supervision during execution.
Organizes own tasks to complete in timely fashion with regular check-in with manager.
Learns how to develop, optimize, and apply new methods/assays.
Interprets results and identifies technical problems.
Learns to troubleshoot and identify causes and, working with supervisor, begins to suggest solutions.
Communicates and defends own experimental results in lab or small group meetings. Contributes methods and results sections to scientific documents.
Independently reads literature and technical information to support individual research goals and to build understanding of the underlying scientific principles of supported projects and the methods used
Requirements
Major or minor in related field such as Molecular biology, Cancer biology, or Immunology.
Must be a current graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing
Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship
Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
Graduate and Advanced Degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Must understand scientific principles and research practices in the field of Cell biology and Immunology
Have general research experience using a variety of standard laboratory techniques.
Previous experience in ECM in vitro biology, FACS and co culture assays is highly preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with computers and experience with data analysis software
Ability to work effectively in highly collaborative research environment.
Compensation: This position offers an hourly rate of $29.00 to $33.00/hr. commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled. For an overview of our benefits please click here ( .
