Job Summary:

The Tile Installer is responsible for residential tile installations as part of the Finishes Team at Relax & Company. This role involves preparing surfaces, installing various types of tiles, and ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in residential settings. The Tile Installer will work closely with the Finishes Manager to complete projects efficiently and to the company’s standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to interpret blueprints and design plans, and strong problem-solving skills to handle unexpected challenges during installations. The Tile Installer will also contribute to maintaining a safe and organized work environment while upholding Relax & Company's values of being humble, hungry, and smart.

Primary Responsibilities:


Tile Installation & Surface Preparation

· Prepare work surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary materials such as mortar or adhesive.

· Accurately measure and cut tiles using hand and power tools to fit specific layouts and designs.

· Install tile on floors, walls, and other surfaces according to design specifications.

· Apply grout, sealant, and perform finishing touches to ensure a polished and professional appearance.


Project Execution & Quality Control

· Execute tile installation projects on time and within budget, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

· Perform site clean-up and ensure all tools and materials are properly stored.

· Conduct final inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.


Collaboration & Communication

· Work collaboratively with other members of the Finishes Team and related trades.

· Communicate effectively with the Finishes Manager to address any issues or changes in project scope.

· Provide feedback on project progress and any potential challenges.


Safety & Compliance

· Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.


Skills:

· Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

· Ability to read and interpret design plans.

· Effective communication and teamwork skills.

· Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing project requirements.

· Proficiency with tools and equipment for tile cutting, installation, and finishing.

· Knowledge of materials and techniques for various residential tile applications.

· Time management skills to meet project deadlines.

· Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices on construction sites.


Experience:

· Proven experience (2+ years) in residential tile installation.

· Experience with a variety of tile materials, including ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone.

· Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment for tile cutting and installation.

· Certification in tile installation is a plus.


Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.)

· Frequent bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.

· Capability to work on job sites with varying conditions.

· Manual dexterity and precision for detailed work.
