Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring Epic experience and an OK or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Patient ratios are typically 1:5, with occasional 1:6-7
• Care includes patients with cardiac, stroke, ortho, surgical, DKA, and mental health diagnoses
• Level 3 Trauma Center setting
• Floating within scope is required to meet facility needs
• Weekend shifts required: 3 per 6-week schedule
• Epic EMR used and recent Epic experience is required
• Must provide care for varied patient populations including those with cardiac and mental health conditions
• No on-call requirement for this position
• Scrub color varies by unit
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed during the 13-week assignment with no holiday RTO, and no RTO may be added after contract start
• Strict attendance policy: missed shifts are unexcused and may result in warnings or cancellation
• Travelers must complete onboarding lab work within 48-72 hours of signing
• Block scheduling and special scheduling requests are not accommodated
• No first-time travelers will be considered

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active OK or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of hospital experience required
• Must have completed at least two successful travel assignments with no performance or attendance issues
• Cardiac experience with self-rating of 3 or higher required
• Basic dysrhythmia training with self-rating of 3 or higher preferred
• Epic EMR experience required, with usage within the past year
• No background check hits allowed
