Job Details We are seeking a Permanent Controller to manage all aspects of our company's financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. This role requires a candidate with a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a firm understanding of the energy sector. Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Additional controller duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Proven working experience as a Financial controller with 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
2. Advanced degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
3. CPA or CMA preferred.
4. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
5. Experience with creating financial statements.
6. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
7. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
8. Must have experience in Fixed Assets, Financials, Year End Close, Cost Accounting, Annual Budget, Consolidations, Reconcile, Fixed Asset Accounting, Cash Flow, GL, Financial Statements, Income Statement, Internal Controls, Financial Reporting, Balance Sheet, A/R, Entries, Monthly, Job Costing, Manufacturer, ERP Implementation.
9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
10. Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
11. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
12. Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
13. Strong knowledge of and experience with ERP systems.
14. Solid understanding of the energy industry and its financial aspects.
