Position Overview

The HR Operations Manager will oversee daily operations across client accounts, ensuring timely execution of HR tasks and high-quality service delivery. This role is responsible for optimizing processes, monitoring client utilization, and supporting the growth of the firm by driving billable work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily HR operations for multiple clients, including payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance activities.
  • Oversee and delegate work to HR team members.
  • Track and report on billable hours, client utilization, and operational KPIs.
  • Identify process improvements and implement solutions to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure timely completion of client requests and maintain exceptional service standards.
  • Support onboarding of new clients, including developing workflows and documentation.
  • Partner with leadership to develop strategies for scaling the firm’s HR services.
  • Assist with recruiting and hiring for both internal and client positions, as needed.
  • Operate and manage multiple client accounts across all environments including, but not limited to, Slack, Teams, Google Workspace, Zoom, HubSpot, and other platforms.
  • Track, assign, and follow up on tasks to ensure projects, initiatives, and client deliverables remain on schedule.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Keep multiple projects, clients, employees, and initiatives running smoothly at one time.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years in HR operations, HR management, or an equivalent role.
  • Strong understanding of payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing multiple client accounts or complex HR processes.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to quickly learn and navigate various platforms (Slack, Teams, Google Workspace, Zoom, HubSpot, and others).
  • Must be highly technically proficient and comfortable operating in a digital-first environment.
  • Comfort working with AI to perform repetitive tasks, for reference, and to increase efficiency.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience tracking and managing tasks and deliverables across diverse clients.
  • Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Experience working in a consulting or agency environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll platforms (e.g., Paylocity, Paycom, Gusto).

Compensation & Employment Structure

  • This position will begin with a 90-day trial period as a 1099 contractor.
  • During the trial period, compensation will be paid hourly, with no PTO or benefits.
  • Upon successful completion of the trial period, this role will convert to a W-2 salaried position that includes:
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • A monthly stipend to assist with health insurance costs
  • Eligibility for performance incentives tied to billable utilization and operational goals
