We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Medical Coder to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities:
* Coding and Abstraction: Accurately assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to patient records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
* Chart Review: Thoroughly review medical records, including physician notes, lab results, and imaging reports, to identify relevant information for coding.
* Coding Accuracy and Efficiency: Maintain high levels of coding accuracy and productivity, meeting established deadlines and quality standards.
* Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on the latest coding guidelines, regulations, and reimbursement policies to ensure compliance.
* Documentation Review: Identify documentation deficiencies and collaborate with providers to obtain necessary information for accurate coding.
* Coding Audits: Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives to maintain coding accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
* Data Entry: Accurately input coded data into the billing system, ensuring timely and accurate claim submission.
Qualifications:
* Certification: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent certification required.
* Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a physician practice or hospital setting.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
* Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and coding.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex medical records and resolve coding issues independently.
* Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with providers and other healthcare professionals.
