Position Summary The Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable is responsible for general AP processing, reconciliations, and accounting support in a high-volume environment. This role delivers exceptional service to both Corporate Support and Operations teams and requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities - Process invoices accurately and timely.
- Prepare journal entries and record period-end accruals.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns.
- Research and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Meet strict deadlines and maintain organized workflows.
- Complete additional projects and special assignments as needed.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
- 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a high-transaction environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits/credits, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Experience with general ledger systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to present clear resolutions.
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Skills - Experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality industries.
- Experience processing utility invoices.
- Knowledge of sales and use tax returns.
