NuWest Travel Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Bakersfield, California.

Unit Notes:**Cerner Required** -Will accept strong charge RN experience- - Unit: All Medsug Tele Units - # beds: 27 - Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - Ratios: 1 to 5 if med surg, 1 to 4 if chemo/tele patient - EMR: Cerner - Charge Nurse: Nurse Shift Managers -do not take patient assignments, also staff a resource nurse to help w/ tasks and breaks etc - Nurse Aides: Target is 2 per shift - Weekend Requirement: One weekend shift every two weeks - Holidays: 2 majors and a minor - Scrub Color: Navy - Tele: Remote tele w/ monitor techs - Vents: none - Hospitalist: In house 24/7 - IV Team: No IV team, but do have resource nurse that can help; have team for PICC and midlines - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes - Call: none - Shifts: 7a, 7p - Floating: other med surg units - Floor specific orientation: One shift Cerner if needed and 2 shifts on units - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: No acute strokes or acute cardiac, no drips, can take peds over age 15, general medical surgical, 7 of rooms are private oncology suites, majority of patients are med surg, GYN, appy, chole, some spine cases, some joints, patients do not have to be on active chemo to be on the oncology side of unit but instead they have a history of - Additional Notes: must have strong central line experience, compassionate care, must like teaching and spending time with their patients Cancellation Policy:Hospital may cancel up to 3 times per contract. Each cancellation could be a full shift or any part of a shift. (Hospital may also pay full hours for a particular shift, in lieu of cancellation).
